Attractions in the closer environs

The community Stężyca is located in the central part of wypoczynek na kaszubachthe Pomeranian voivodeship, in the Kartuzy district. The distance to the nearest town Kościerzyny is approximately 10 km, and to the so called three towns (Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia) 50 - 70 km. The community Stężyca is situated in the center of the Kashubian lake region. Here the landscape shows the most diversified side of the polish lowlands with the Szymbarkian hilly country, and its highest peak: Wieżyca (329m over sea level). Steżyca covers a part of southwest of the Radunskian lake region - one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Kashubian recreational area. The Radunskian lake region is completely situated in the Kashubian conservation area. Worth mentioning is, that the community Stężyca is located in a special outstanding part of the landscape. It is a community with a rustic character, with strong developed tourist and service structure. On the community territory are existing a multitude of archeological curiosities, under others a burial place out of the iron-age, located in Klukowej Hucie, or a burial-hill out of the bronze-age in Niesolowice, case-graves in Borucin and the fortifications, out of the early Middle Ages, in Kamienicy Szlacheckie, and Stare Czap. In the Upper Radunish river-basin, on the base of the agroturystyka kaszuby Szimbarkian hilly range, in a special diversified part of the Kashubian lake region, there are a couple of lakes, what are filling up long, deep, and steep former crevasses out of the ice-age. These are fourteen lakes, together called the Radunskish lakes: Stężyckie, Upper and Lower Radunskish lakes, Klodno, Białe, Rekowo, small and big Brodno, Ostrzyckie, small and big Bukrzyno, Patulskie, Dąbrowskie, and Lubowisko. This number of marvelous lakes on a whole length of about forty kilometers, situated in two bows close together in the regions of Chmielna and Stężyca, are forming a real string of pearls, a natural ornament of Kashubian earth, a particularly attractive patch of Kashubia, where biggest contrasts of landscapes are like a mixed arranged bouquet of lakes and forests harmonizing together. The Radunskish lake and the course of the Radun river together are shaping the so called "Radunish County". On the area of Stężyca there are tourist attractions as follows:
